“The church does not have a mission. God’s mission has a church.”
Vox Dei Community is a church-community participating in the missio Dei as:
As participants in God’s mission, we recognize the value of dedicating a portion of our resources in each fiscal year toward supporting, encouraging, and cultivating partnerships with those who serve God’s work beyond the local expression of Vox Dei Community.Vox Dei Community has a number of relational connections with churches and organizations who share some common stake in God’s mission.
Vox is partnering with two Ministries that are serving refugees and sharing the Gospel with them.
Refuge KC picks up where the state leaves off with refugees. They help by being great neighbors, they provide food, help them get furniture, and teach them how to shop at our crazy grocery stores, they do home visits and by doing all of this they build relationships with the families and share the gospel with them and down the road they start small group bible studies and one on one discipleship.
Hellenic Ministries has been serving the people of Greece for nearly 40 years and since 2006 they have been serving refugees by providing food, showers, laundry, medical care and housing. Then after they provide for their physical needs they share the gospel with them and start bible studies and discipleship classes.
Jesucristo, Verdad y Vida
Vox is coming alongside a new church plant in Belton that is reaching into the Spanish-speaking population of Cass County. JesuCristo Verdad y Vida (Jesus Christ, Truth and Life) is a holistic missional opportunity for Vox to engage God’s mission with the families from Truth & Life. Currently, we are volunteering with childcare and ESL classes and are looking for ways to further partner.
